Pluto Made Me Do It: My Astrology Origin Story

There was a time in my life when I had everything society says you’re supposed to want. A successful career in the NYC fashion industry, a long-term relationship, a great apartment, and a clear plan for the future. But the truth? I felt trapped, exhausted, and like I was living someone else’s life. I was going through the motions, but my heart was somewhere else.
For years, I’d been walking a tricky tightrope. My Gemini side craved variety, connection, and excitement, but my Capricorn moon demanded responsibility and achievement. Meanwhile, my Cancer rising was quietly whispering that there was more to life than career milestones — it was urging me to look inward and trust my emotional instincts, to find a place of true belonging. I just didn’t know how to listen to it yet.
In 2021, in a totally uncharacteristic move, I quit my job, put my things in storage, and broke up with my partner. I had no solid plan (a Capricorn moon's worst nightmare) but felt an undeniable pull to explore the unknown and give myself space to breathe. I now know that Pluto, Lord of the underworld, had come into contact with my moon, pushing me to completely transform my life from the inside out.
It was during this strange time that I went to a wedding and started chatting with an acquaintance about astrology. She recommended a website to help me interpret my chart, and what I learned stopped me in my tracks. Suddenly, I was seeing the parts of myself that had been competing for control—my mind (Gemini), my ambition (Capricorn), and my emotions (Cancer)—and everything started to click. I couldn't get enough.
As I dove deeper into astrology, I realized that my chart held the key to everything that had ever happened in my life. My achievements, my struggles, my relationships, and even the moments I had felt stuck or lost—it was all there in black and white. I began to see astrology not as a vague set of predictions or personality traits but as a blueprint for my soul’s journey.
Astrology opened my eyes to the power of self-acceptance. I stopped fighting the parts of me that seemed contradictory—like my Gemini sun’s need for freedom and my Capricorn moon’s desire for control. I learned to embrace my Cancer rising’s sensitivity and vulnerability, seeing them not as weaknesses but as strengths that led me toward authentic connections. Astrology gave me permission to be all of these things at once. My chart is not a box I have to fit into, but a guide to help me navigate the complexities of who I am.
As I embraced this understanding, my life changed. I no longer saw obstacles as unfair punishments but as opportunities for growth. And just as importantly, astrology gave me incredible insight into others. I realized we’re all navigating life the best we can with the cards we were dealt, and that awareness has helped me build stronger, more compassionate connections.
Now, I use astrology to help others discover their unique path and overcome the challenges that are written in their own map. Whether it’s understanding the purpose of Saturn’s tough lessons, embracing our highest potential path through the nodes, or using locational astrology to find the right place to call home, I believe that astrology has the power to bring clarity, direction, and meaning to anyone who’s willing to explore it.
Why do I believe that astrology can heal us? Because it changed my life. I’m not just talking about working for myself or traveling the world (although that part is pretty great). I’m talking about a deeper level of self-acceptance and alignment that I ever thought possible. I’m finally living in tune with who I am, not who society expects me to be.
Astrology isn't about obsessing about the future or relying on the stars to make decisions for me. It’s about understanding the energy at play, both within myself and in the world around me, and using that knowledge to live with more intention and clarity.
I’m here to help you do the same. Whether you’re just curious about astrology or looking to transform your life through self-awareness, I’m excited to share this journey with you. Because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that you are more than just your Sun sign—and the universe is more on your side than you realize.
So, what’s your story? Have you felt called to astrology in some way? Drop me a comment or DM, and let’s talk. Your chart might just hold the answers you’ve been searching for.
With love,
